[Dailydrool] slinky hounds outside

Elvis has been slinking ( scooching) outside for more than 5 1/2 years now. Sun, mud, snow- makes no difference to him. I do limit the time when there is snow or it is very cold. So far none of his parts have frozen and fallen off, though I have warned him of this happening many times! The skin on his belly is quite thick and somewhat calloused after all this time. I do have to be careful that he doesn’t go across cement or blacktop ( and he will quick like a bunny if there is any) as that will shred his skin. Sometimes I leave a belly band on him in hopes of preventing raw skin. But getting a belly band to stay put on a slinky hound is like dressing a Slinky and expecting it to stay that way... Elvis loves to be outside no matter what the weather- but a nice sunny day is his favorite. I am hoping spring hurries along so that he gets some more of them.
