[Dailydrool] Basset Related

We have had bassets for over 35 years.  Recently our Pixel who was almost
14, arrived at the Bridge.  We have our Browser, who is almost 11.

We have just now rescued a shih tzu who is a little over a year old.  Our
condo laws precluded any dog over 25 pounds and Pixel and Browser were
"grand fathered" in when we first purchased our "get away' condo near
Melbourne, FL.

Yesterday, Browser made it known when Sprite came to live with us (he had
met him before on Browser's own turf), that he was the alpha dog.  Pixel
and Browser never seemed to have chosen an alpha.

Any hints on integrating Sprite into our family will be appreciated.
 Anyone happen to have a basset and a Shih Tzu by any chance?

We are praising Browser whenever he comes near Sprite.  Browser has been
blind from glaucoma since age 5, so this whirling dervish he has to get
used to but today is much better than yesterday so we have hope..

Thanks for any suggestions...
