Aloha Val,
Thanks for pointing out to me that IBS and IBD are different altogether.  I just reread the report from the Vet specialist, and he did indeed diagnose IBD.  Despite being on his medicine for helicobacter  for four days, the past two days, he is eating grass, and his stool wavers from good to beginning to get soft, then back to good.  I gave him cerenia the past two mornings and he has not vomited.  For some time now, before all this testing and diagnosis, I was so confused why he had bouts of vomiting and diarrhea.  I believe he can be treated, and the attending vet did mention the possibility of steroids but she did not name the drug.  I am keeping a diary of his changes so the Vet can treat to the best of her ability.
