[Dailydrool] Basset hounds are people too

Today I took Mila and Mariah to the dog park. There is only one on our island and it is only open Saturday. I imagined Mariah might be missing her huge pack at Daphneyland. Possibly--but not necessarily.

At the dog park there is a stage covered by a roof at one end, then a grassy, shaded area, a grassy sunny area, and a grassy partly shaded area with kiddie pools filled with water for swimming and cooling down. The dog owners mostly sit along the edge of the stage and watch their dogs frolic in the grassy areas.

Today, seated along the stage were ten dog owners and two basset hounds. The bassets  made the rounds from owner to owner collecting pets and scratches, and cordially sniffed the other dogs if the other dogs came calling at the stage, but Mila's and Mariah's message was loud and clear. We are people too.
