[Dailydrool] Fig leaves

Has anybody had the experience of their bassets eating fig leaves ? Being high summer in South Africa now, we are used to the dogs taking a grass blade every now and then when on a walkies, but recently their habits changed. Both Mier and Sally go for fig leaves and also for the shrub Leonotis leonorus. This latter plant is locally quite famous for its medicinal qualities although in some circles it is (incorrectly) regarded as a drug. Well neither Mier nor Sally became stoned after eating some of the leaves.
