Leslie, you asked << AM I ALONE HERE? >>

No, you are NOT alone in grieving not only the loss of one's own furbaby
but sharing the pain of the losses of others. There have been days when I
have been either on FB or here on the Drool when I read about a houndie's
trip to the Bridge and I just sit and sob, my heart breaking along with the
slave who has lost their baby. Time with our furkids is WAY too short in
any case but it is especially sad to read about the Big C or some other
sudden illness taking far too many lately, including youngsters.

I have suffered much loss since 2014; first, that July my heart dog Dozer
from mast cell cancer, then our beloved granddaughter, Gabriella in
September, then my sweet cousin Margo less than two months later, followed
by my husband of 48 years in March of 2015. For much of the next few months
I moved about in a daze, putting one foot in front of the other because I
had no other choice but to go on. What I have learned from this is that *none
*of us are promised tomorrow, only today...right this moment, so we must
cherish every single moment and let those we love know how much they mean
to us. For me this means not only saying the words but crying with those
who have suffered loss and letting them know we care... for many of us have
walked in their shoes.

So, Leslie and any and all Droolers whose heart is hurting for whatever
reason...know that I care and you are not alone.

Hugs and drool from NJ
