[Dailydrool] Esty, ATB

For those folks not on FB,  I posted this a short time ago,  along with some
photos of Esty.  She was not a Basset, but shared her home with many over
the years and no doubt has been having a raucous reunion by now.  

She never seemed to show her age on her face and it sort of hit me hard as I
just did not realize how old she was getting.  She is much missed this
evening as I had to put one more bowl away...

ESTY FLIES TO THE BRIDGE

Our beloved little beagle, Esty made her way to the Bridge this afternoon,
with Pat and myself at her side. I had not mentioned her illness here, as I
just couldn't, the thought of her not being with me is unbearable. Without
doing extensive testing, cancer was probably the culprit. Esty showed signs
of illness last week, the same day Brewster came down with his UTI, so she
spent the day at the vet too. After some improvement in her condition, I had
hope, but last night and today, it was obvious, she was ready to go see her
beloved Scoo Baby and her boy, Nathan. It is hard to think of a day without
her being in it, as she was the Bounder who has the longest tenure, coming
in with Beagles, Bona and Logan, from AL in Oct of 09. 
Esty had a song in her heart and always sang with such joy, love and pride
in her song. I will miss singing along with her, and made sure she knew to
ask Scoo Baby about choirs ATB...am sure our Sunny and Michael would be
singing there too.
