[Dailydrool] Pros/Cons of early spaying?

Hello! I've been researching when to get my basset puppy spayed and have run into a lot of conflicting advice. My vet says to do it before 6 months but I've seen articles online about waiting until they've had their first cycle or are a year so the growth plates close properly. What is your expert opinion? I'm sure there pros and cons to each but at this point I feel like I don't know which is better.
