Basset Rescue of Montana recently took in a 2 yr. old basset
with a hole in her heart. Olive Rose had to have immediate
surgery to close the hole or she would not have survived
for much longer. Leslie Ames took her to a veterinary
specialist in Spokane last week for the surgery and Olive is
doing great! She’s recovering well back at the ranch with
Leslie and the other MT hounds. However, her surgery
was very expensive - $3500 plus she has aftercare
expenses like an echocardiogram that has to be done
after the first of the year to see her heart function once
she’s healed.

For those of you on Facebook, there is an auction to help
raise the funds for Olive’s surgery - there’s some great
items on the auction and it’s getting some wonderful
attention. If you’re interested, here’s a link:

If you’re not on Facebook, you can email me about
donations. BR of MT is a small rescue that has seen
it’s support in the area dwindle due to the economy and
the aging and health issues of its volunteers and supporters so
Leslie has been overwhelmed the help she’s been receiving
for Olive. Kudos to Leslie for saving this little girl’s life!

Thanks,
