Have the ultrasound done. My Sophie had a mass on her spleen. She had
surgery to have it removed. It was a benign tumor. She lived another three
years and died at age 14.

I know many have posted about their dogs with masses on the spleen but
here is my situation and I would appreciate any suggestions, comments,
opinions.
After just losing our Daisy we found a lump in the exact same spot as
Daisy had on our Maggie, so off to the vet we? went, well luckily after
aspiration it is a fatty tumor. But now for the bad part, Bailey on the other hand
the vet felt a thickening of the spleen, she explain that it could be that
the spleen was folded or a mass, then proceeded to say that she has
removed masses from the spleen but usually it only gives the dog an extra 30-60
days. Well I choose to have an xray which showed some enlargement of the
spleen, could not really say it was a mass unless we do an ultrasound. Next
great news was she has a 2-3 grade heart mumur. Our vet treats per symptom and
usually at grade 4, but did give the option of starting her on Allporinal.
Her suggest as far as the spleen was to take an xray in 3 months to see if
it has gotten larger or before if she shows any symptoms.
?
So that was a rather hard bit of news to swallow less than 2 weeks after
losing Daisy. So can anyone share their experience with either heart murmur
or spleen problems or removals.
