[Dailydrool] Deafness

I feel really silly asking this question but I need to ask. I think Speedy is either deaf or getting to that point. I mean sometimes we have to have to be literally on top of him to get him to hear us. I mentioned it to my previous vet but never got an answer from her (I have since stopped going to her because I find this new one completely inadequate). Is there a test I should ask for when I get a new vet?

I haven't decided on a new vet because I hear too many conflicting tales in my area and I'm super picky with my vets especially when it comes to Speedy. 

He is otherwise healthy and happy and content with the world.
