I used to volunteer with a Basset rescue and was the one they would call to take the old and sick ones. So I went through quite a few dogs in about a five year period. Both my parents also passed during those years. I keep everyone in ceramic/pottery pieces. It gives me an excuse to buy the cool pottery I like but I don't know what the artists think when I tell them what I need a vessel with lid for. I will sometimes attach a photo to the front or tags or collar inside to keep track of who's who. I just moved and made sure my "valuables" went in the car with me. I agree I feel comforted having them with me.
