[Dailydrool] A few more weeks with Duncan

Well it's been almost 4 weeks with Duncan. His charming self has not changed but is naughtiness is definitely coming out. 

The first week he was probably mellow because of the changes he went through but  he has since perked up. At first he wasn't a barker. We even thought he just didn't know how. After about 2 weeks he found his voice. Any time he gets excited or wants his way, he has been very vocal about it. But he doesn't have a normal basset bark. It's like a puppy bark. It lacks the depth most bassets have, the one I love so much. 

Duncan is also a counter cruiser. In fact yesterday he succeed in stealing a slice of pizza and a bag of cheese. We think he may have even jumped on the dining table from all the fur we found. Teaches us to leave food on the table. 

As for Rambo, Duncan has become a good friend. Many a nights we find them sleeping on the same bed. Last night Duncan was with the DH and didn't want to come inside. After about half an hour Rambo went outside and brought him in. Only then did Rambo go to sleep. Rambo is dying to get him to wrestle but seem to care for such rough play. Duncan either goes under the table or hides behind us when the playing gets too rough, Rambo doesn't insist on it after that but I can tell he's counting the days he can get Duncan to wrestle or play alligator mouth. 

What I find very amusing is the relationship between the DH and Duncan. If Duncan could he'd always be on the DH's lap. If the DH goes outside there goes Duncan. If he comes back in, Duncan is at his heels. And Duncan's naughtiness? The DH turns the blind eye, where as before there was at minimum heavy nagging. Even after the stolen pizza incident,  his "reprimand"was laughable. Duncan has a huge hold on the DH - so much for the man that didn't want anymore bassets.
