Younger Clara here
I had just realised Tedward was missing. I looked all around, then Twinkletoes flew down the bus and whispered "Ted likes to do his own thing. He’s fine, he’s going to catch us later.”
I was feeling terrible. That was two of the party I'd lost.

We next pulled in front of the most beautiful thatched pub. It looked like it had fallen off the front of the box of chocolates.

We all bounded inside and admired the old beams and warm fireplace while Morse ordered all our drinks. I was pleased to see Mollie Grace really joining in - and not a sign of her rolling walk - must have been the drink. Mozart on the other hand was looking a bit wobbly.

“Which ginger beer did you order for the puppy?” I asked Morse. “Crabbies.” He replied. “Oh no, I forgot, that’s the alcoholic version! I’ll order some water and cheese, you go and take the rest of it away from him.”

But when I went over, Mozart had already finished the bottle. “I’m fine,” he slurred slightly. “I really like that ginger beer. Here, Stonewall d’ya know that song about the houndette and the poodle?”

I groaned. This trip was turning into a disaster a tipsy puppy and two dogs lost.

The food at this pub was fantastic, and Morse was right, lying around looking plaintive won us plenty of nosh. I managed to get Mozart to drink a couple of bowls of water and eat some food and he seemed more himself - but he couldn’t quite stop giggling at the slightest thing.

“Back on the bus,” called Morse. Next stop my very own local, Church House.”

I looked down the bus - now Stonewall and Samantha were missing. Duchess saw my face and flew over. “Don’t worry, she reassured me. “Really, they are all OK.”

Sasha and Paisley were first through the door of Morse’s 14th century pub, they admired the fine medieval beam-and-plank ceiling and the black oak partition wall, then ran to sit in the window seats, cut into thick butter-coloured walls.

Jed and Hooter settled down in front of the  woodburner in the huge fireplace, while Halfred and Emma helped Morse and Rolph order from the bar.

Cleo was sitting in a window seat having a hurried conversation with Horton, who nodded and went outside. I wondered what she’d left on the coach. It was also about this time I noticed none of the ATB hounds were to be seen. What was going on?
