Dear momI am really sorry for hurting your feelings.
I was trying to be English. Clara explained to me that in many families over here, people start out as mummy and daddy (mother and father, mum and dad) and then, when their kids have kids, they become granny and grandad (nanny and grandpa, grandmother and grandfather) to all the family.
In fact married men and women sometimes refer to each other as mum and dad. But once you're a grandma, everyone calls you grandma.  I know it's weird, but that's Brits for you.
Love you, Your very own Chunky Puppy
