[Dailydrool] Basset hounds stars in Shakespeare play

We live in Vancouver, Canada.  This summer Bard on the Beach, the largest non-profit Shakespeare Festival in western Canada, is staging a number of plays, one of which is Two Gentlemen of Verona.
One of the characters is Crab played by a canine actor.  This years honour has gone to Gertie, a lovely, petite, 6 year old Basset Hound who had to beat out 11 other canine actors to get the part.

I went to the play solely to see Gertie who did not disappoint.  She played her role beautifully.
