[Dailydrool] The rio trio

It is hard to believe that it has been eleven years since the three basset
hounds were picked up on a drainage ditch about a quarter mile from the Rio
Grande river in El Paso TX county. I was getting off my shift (6-2) at the
port of entry and was going home. For some reason I glanced over at the
drainage ditch and there were  three bassets just waiting to be picked up.
I stopped, put them in the back seat and home we went. The next day we go
to the vet and find out that I have a 2 year old and two 1 year olds.  I
could not break up the family, and eleven years later they are still
together. All are older and grayer, but still lovable. I am so glad I was
there to get them before anything happened to them.
They are now referred to the Rio Trio, since they were so close to  the
river.
