[Dailydrool] Liver Enzymes

I had a Treeing Walker Coonhound whose liver values were through the roof
for years. In the thousands. I had him on human Milk Thistle. You can
also get Denamarin through your vet.

This sounds like the problem I had with my Dora years ago. ?It took me a
long while to figure out she was afraid to go out in the dark by herself.
?Once I started taking her out at night and staying outside with her she was
fine, no more puddles inside. ?You just never know what is going on inside
those little heads. ?We fell into a routine that lasted her entire life.
?Still miss her terribly.?

The only issue we've had with Sunday is potty training!! She knows how to
use the doggy door already (she's SUPER smart!!), and she comes and goes as
she pleases, but we can't get her to associate only going potty outside! She
also refuses to use pee pads or newspaper for whatever reason! I've praised
her up and down when she goes outside and told her she was a bad girl for
going in the house. She's great all day long, but at night there's always a
puddle or two as well as at least one pile - usually in the bar area or (my
favorite) near the back door... Does anyone have any advice for how to get
her to stop going in the house?!?!?

Sue Autry's post reminded me that we met Sue and Dave who live in Melbourne,
FL as we have a condo in the area, which we try to get to whenever we can
from Miami.

Sue had given some general advice about a Pet ER that had opened in the
Melbourne area and I then contacted her and she and Dave have become dear
friends.

Sue was of enormous comfort to us when our Browser went to the bridge right
after Hurricane Irma, when we had escaped to the Melbourne area as we had no
electricity in Miami.

She has since given us great advice in searching for a small adult basset.
Our condo rules only allow a dog up to 40 pounds. Our first bassets were
"grand-fathered" in when we bought our condo but now, we must stick to the
weight limits.

So making friends through the Drool has been another gift for us.

If any Droolers in the Florida area hear of a small basset anywhere from
2-5 years, please let me know. Our ShihTzu, Sprite would love a brother or
sister. I have applied to several rescue groups in Florida and our former
breeders are also looking out for us.

My friend has a little white fluffy dog (cockapoo?) that had skyrocketing
liver enzymes. She went on-line and read everything that she could. She
now makes her dog a green slush out of all kinds of vegetables and adds in
additional minerals and the vet is beyond thrilled with the results. If any
of you are interested, I can email her and ask her exactly what she does for
Mimi...

BTW - Mimi eats 3 meals a day of this green slush and she just LOVES it!!
You should see her dance when the blender is going cuz she knows she's about
to get fed!!

Gwen!
I would very much be interested in what your friend is mixing together for
her dogs liver condition. I have had a couple in the past few months have
some elevated in zymes and we have brought them down using denamarin , but
would be interested in hell your friend has kept her dogs blood work looking
good.wen and the bounders
