Val, my first basset Sherlock atb [07-19-1980 / 07-19-- 1993] was prone to ear infection which lead to she shaking of the ears, He suffered from several hemotomas. OMD one time his ear was bigger than an ear of corn. First time and the second time the vet just drained it the 3rd time, there  was a different vet, he to drained it with a large needle Then he wrapped it around a TP cardboard roll. It stayed that way for 2 wksThat ear never got another one. the other ear did, infact I had the vet teach me how to do it if Sherlock developed another one. when he did, I drained it with a large needle poke and gently squeezed it empty. then I wrapped it around a TP roll. that ended the hemotoma, this was many many years agoGood luck with your babyMartha
