Frans is having a problem posting on the Drool so I offered to post for him:

Living in a rural environment, we have to treat our bassets on a continuous basis against ticks and fleas. Some time ago a very effective treatment containing the insecticide fluralaner appeared on the market. This proved to be a very successful treatment for our bassets. On a recent trip to the vet to purchase the three monthly doses for dogs, we were warned not to use it in case of a dog suffering from epilepsy. As Mier suffers from epilepsy, this was a real concern for us. Back home I searched for fluralaner on the web. In one article it was stated that fluralaner have caused seizures and even death of some dogs. None of this is recorded in the directions of use in the package and there is no warning not to use it for dogs suffering from epilepsy. Can anybody shed some light on the issue ?

I know that when Bravecto, which contains fluralaner, came out, my vet advised me not to use it on Gracie, who had seizures. Any other suggestions for Mier?

Thanks,
