The link between grain-free dog foods and heart disease is quite vague and
is a work-in-progress. Here's an article written just this past November
that describes the state of the research.

Eating grain-free food has helped our bassets' ears stay so much cleaner,
that I'm sticking with it and not worrying about it, at least until there's
something concrete to worry about.
