Hi it's Dale,
So, in answer to Bev's question, I think age makes a big difference. Snoopy is 14 ..... if I fed him twinkies and gelato and he ate them and had normal stools and didn't gain or loose weight I doubt it would matter. His vet has said as much. But, I don't feed him junk, I put beef and carrots and yams and squash in the crock pot for him with some oat meal .... he's a happy boy.
Chomper is only 5 though and I was told that dogs younger then 12 shouldn't be crock pot dogs (I forget now by whom but it was someone I respected) ..... so Chomper only gets a small bowl of "Snoopy stew" over the top of his kibble. I buy dog food imported from New Zeland (don't start, I don't have time for food wars I'm warning you). It's called Addiction Salmon/Sweet Potato, it used to be a huge hassle to get but now Chewy.com has it and it's delivered to my door. High protein, no grain. Never had a problem.
And thats me, done and dusted.
Good luck,Dale
