[Dailydrool] Memories and Gratitude

Well I remember the days of old and long digests.Pw. Cocshall was but a pup when the drool came into our lives.So many friends and contacts, from f2f, thru email, into digests, transitioning to social media. Decades of basset peeps.Yep, we miss the good old days!I am reminded almost daily of all our former hounds have taught us. Many familiar faces now frequent the bridge, keeping our hounds company until one day we too shall be reunited.The new hounds of today help heal the heart.Although the last decade has found my time usurped by the ever increasing needs of rescue hounds, I too still feel a rise in the pulse when the DD hits the inbox.  I always read, may not have time to answer but that does not mean my heart is not with each and every daily drooler.My hound of today is Thunder.  He is currently working hard to fill the foot prints of my previous hound that wanted to protect me from everything.Poor Thunder really has a tough time being head hound here at Daphneyland - he is actually a certified therapy hound so it's a bit alien for him to be macho.Droolers will be thrilled to learn he has finally found his voice, and his howls are "Big Boy Basset" bays.  His main job is to hold down the comforter on the bed. You know how they tend to disappear suddenly.

Daphneyland is open to the public on Saturdays & Sundays from 11 - 4. Volunteering, visiting, meet and greet and bellyrubbing.  Adoption apps must have been screened and approved before a hound can go home!Please visit our website and consider a monthly donation to our Sustainability Program!
