Oh Merta Lou, I think you might be having some visitors of the lovely black
and white striped variety that your mom person is trying to protect you
from.  You must let her do this - VERY IMPORTANT!  These striped visitors
care not a whit for the superiority of basset hounds,  can you believe
that?!  Best to let your mama scare them away before you venture outside.
