Hi everyone, Hettie here
I hope all of you and your families are staying safe.

Last night woMum and I had an adventure. Last thing before we go to bed, we pop out for a very short walk so I can make myself comfortable. Now, we live on the edge of a town with lots of countryside and wild animals about.

Most nights we see foxes. They are very rude and jeer at me for being a pet dog, but they never hang around when we get close, because they know their history and foxes do not do well in the paws of hounds. We also see, and smell, badgers. But they are sneaky and run very fast just behind us, or too far ahead for me to catch - and boy they are fast.

Well, last night I cornered a badger! I chased it up some steep steps and had it backed up against a fence. It was snarling and telling me to back off and I said "No way stinky badger, you're always coming in my garden and taunting me and I'm going to teach you a lesson." Then woMum came huffing and puffing up the steps and she looked grey and her eyes were super wide open and she's. like "Hettie, come away, now!" and I'm like "No way.  I caught the evil black and white monster" and the badger took that moment to sneak through a hole in the fence when my attention was elsewhere.

Well, I showed it. I am the mighty huntress who keeps the neighbourhood safe. That badger won't be back any time soon! And I really don't know what woMum seemed so upset about.

Note from Sally: They were literally nose to nose. I was terrified she would get hurt. Badgers are absolutely not to be messed with. Luckily it was frightened of me. I just hope she doesn't corner one in the garden.
