[Dailydrool] Nick's Adventures

     Please keep posting. I enjoy reading his adventures, it makes me 
smile and goodness knows we all need something to smile about right now. 
I will share one of my first bassets adventures.

Nova, my first basset was staying with my mom until hubby and I got our 
backyard landscaped. Spring in Illinois is not a good time to have a dog 
in a new house. Tons of mud. Anyway we had gone to my mom's for dinner, 
and a great meal it was. We had to leave, so I couldn't help my mom 
clean up, but she said she was okay with that. Later that night I got a 
call from my mom about sweet and lovable Nova. My mom was so mad, but at 
the same time she couldn't stop laughing. I thought she was losing her 
mind. Finally she calms down enough to tell me she took some of the 
dishes into the kitchen and started cleaning up after dinner. Goes back 
into the dining room to find Nova on the table with her face in the 
gravy boat. Gravy flying everywhere. Of course being a basset the more 
my mom yelled and tried to get her off the table the harder she pushed 
her face into her treasure. Sadly this was before the days of cell 
phones, but I would have loved to have seen the video. Moral of the 
story, make sure all chairs and pushed up to the table so basset 
mountain goats can't get up there.
