[Dailydrool] Update from the Martin Dogs

Hey everyone! Bugsey here! Sorry we haven't written lately. The mom person
had surgery and we were very busy taking care of her, especially me. I had
to make sure she didn't get up too many times and had to keep her warm by
laying very quietly on her lap. Browyn was useless. The mom had her
gallbladder taken out. IT was being very bad and making her miserable.
Well, I prefer to lay on the left side and Browyn lays on the right side.
The incisions were on the right side. Browyn kept kicking and stretching
and kicking mom in the process. So, I had to switch side to keep mom safe.
Now we found out that she is getting a spinal epidural on Monday and foot
surgery on March 19. So, it looks like my role as nurse is far from over.

Now for an update on the most important members of the family. The Bassets!
Poor Beauford. His anal gland carcinoma is growing much faster than any one
expected, So far the vetman doesn't think it has spread to other parts. He
used a different word. I had no clue what it meant, but I figured it out
the mom explained it to the DH. The pea sized lump is now bigger than the
vetman's thumb.

I have been having tons of trouble with my tummy. It has not been fun at
all. I had to take antibiotics for 6 weeks and I got to eat cottage cheese
and mashed potatoes. Then the mom SLOWLY switched me over to canned
food-duck and sweet potato. It is really yummy! And she isn't giving
Beauford or Browyn any. She just asked the vetman if I can just stay on it
permanently! Every time she starts to mix a bit of my old food in with the
canned, I reward her by puking all over the floor. Besides, I have a lot of
trouble chewing my food. This is much easier to eat. Anyway, the vetman
said I can keep eating the canned food. I just might have to have my teeth
cleaned a little more often. Since I haven't needed a teeth cleaning in 5
years, I am not too worried. I get special dental chews every day and the
mom is a fanatic about brushing teeth.

Browyn managed to cut her foot this past week. Then it got infected despite
the mom tackling her and cleaning it and spraying it with gentaspray. It
doesn't help that we got 5.5 inches of rain last week. The backyard is a
mud pit, and my little sister enjoys nothing more than rolling in mud! She
has also decided that she doesn't have to sleep...again! Then vetman put
her on tramadol. Then he upped her dose of tramadol. She is now sleeping
about 6-7 hours a night, but she has decided to SCREAM in our crate for 45
minutes before going to sleep. She is screaming 20-30 minutes before naps.
I may break down and bite her.

Please know that Beauford and I are in full drool mode for anyone that
needs it!
