I was also afraid of failing the application process.  We adopted through CBHR and I actually did many home visits for them over the years we lived in NC. They are just making sure that the dog will be safe and loved.  Fenced yard without holes is a must for dogs that will be allowed on their own in the yard.  I met many wonderful people that made great adoptive parents.  I only had one situation where I did not feel comfortable.  The family had a two year old that loved to run around with a sharp knife in his hand.  He scared me!  They also  had a fence with lots of escape holes and lived on a busy street.  It was the first time I ever thought that I would not want my dog to visit, never mind live there. I know CBHR wants to make sure it’s a match.  It’s a wonderful rescue.
