Happy Fall everyone!  Time for another $5 Friday next week on October 1st. We’ll have 2 
rescues for October, Looziana and Belly Rubs.  Looziana was hit very hard by Hurricane 
Ida and it’s going to take a while to get things back to normal there. Both of them rescue 
have about 7 seniors, some of them have been expensive and although one of Belly Rubs’ 
seniors has been adopted out, her vet bills are still with the rescue.  If you can help, please

Last month we came very close to $7000 for Utah Friends of Basset Hounds, just a few 
dollars short.  This month we hope to raise even more since the two rescues will have to 
share the proceeds.  

Thank  you to everyone who has been sending donations for the rescues. It’s been an 
amazing journey, with our first $5 Friday raising $1200; who knew we’d come so far?  
We’ve picked up more and more donors along the way; it’s truly humbling to help with 
these seniors that have so many issues.  It is pretty rare to have a healthy senior come 
into rescue.  Even most owner surrenders have ear infections, skin issues, lumps and more. 

The basset community is amazing - we appreciate everyone and every donation, no 
matter how small. It all adds up.
