<div>Mothballs are toxic to dogs and cats. Any breed that will happily eat rocks, shoes, tampons, toothglue, dog, cat & rabbit poop, goose poop, dead anythings and grass will certainly try a mothball. </div>

<div>I cannot remember where I saw it, whether it was here or elsewhere, but maybe last summer there was an article someplace about snake-proofing your dog, teaching the dog to stay away from snakes. I think that probably would be better than trying to keep the snakes out of the yard. I cannot think of a single way to do the latter. Even a Basset responds better to a stern lecture than a snake.</div>
