<table cellspacing='0' cellpadding='0' border='0' ><tr><td style='font: inherit;'><P>Welcome to the new buppy and his mom. I think some other folks may have answered your questions by now, but here's what worked for me with buppies. I use small treats for every kind of training. With my first Basset I used the bigger ones and she got a little "fluffy" so we now use Buddy Biscuits, the "itty bitty" size. They look like little tiny gingerbread men and come in a variety of flavors, two of which are corn and wheat free (good for hounds with allergies). The dogs don't seem to know that the treats are small, but doG forbid don't forget to give 'em out after potty breaks! Both my hounds will let me know in no uncertain terms that I forgot the cookies! I just switched both hounds to a new-to-us food at the vet's request (Pippi has some itching "issues"). He advised us to switch slowly-take about 3-4 days to do
it. I just gradually added a little of the new food to the old stuff at each meal until we were switched over. As for the crate, it's worked for us to have the crates where the dogs can see what's going on. They don't fuss so much that way since they feel they are still a part of the pack. We do cover Sean's crate sometimes because he barks up a storm occasionally. When he barks in his crate, I cover it with a blanket and tell him, "No barking". He usually settles quickly and will often fall asleep in there with the blanket over the crate. </P>

<P>As for the drooling issue, Pip doesn't drool too much unless there's some really good "people food" in front of her. Then little drops of drool come out. Sean drools when we're out on walks and he's real excited. Then he can really fling it! Sean has a bigger head and a much bigger mouth than Pip (take that how ever you want folks!), so maybe that's why?! Neither of them do it all day all the time.</P>

<P>And to Taz's mom: How in the world did you get them to keep those hats on? Mine would've eaten the hats while I was looking for the camera!</P>
