<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>We had a really cool event for Tri-State
Basset Hound Rescue this past Thursday at the Ziegfeld Theater in
Manhattan. There is a new movie, American Girl 'Kit Kittredge' opening
July 2nd that features a rescued homeless Basset Hound named Grace. The
Basset in the movie was from Toronto and was 'unavailable' for her red carpet
premier so the movie folks needed a Basset Double to play the part. The
Basset needed to be an old female and our Baguette after 12 years of managing
the rest of the pack in her role of Alpha Female and her amazing tolerance of
the two Sunny Hush Buppies this past year was a close match. </FONT><FONT
face=Arial size=2>Baguette walked the red carpet for the first fifteen minutes
followed by the human actors / actresses. It was hilarious to see a couple
hundred paparazzi photographing her. She looks close enough to the Grace
in the movie that a couple of the kid actresses and some people involved in the
film stopped to pet her and tell her it was good to see her again. She did
a great job and raised a nice appearance fee /
donation for Tri-State Basset Hound Rescue. I have two links,

that wants to see this. She was introduced on the stage in the theater as
the 'mascot and star Grace' and got big applause as she did the walk in the
spotlight and then waited for the humans. Anyone who has not taken a
Basset through a theatre packed with young children eating but
mainly dropping free popcorn has not truly experienced the Basset
Hoover. She got to sniff and in some cases get pets from Willow Smith
(Will's daughter) Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine) Julia Roberts and
more. We were stopped by a production crew from Animal Planet out of
Toronto on the way out, they had been there just to film 'Grace' on
the carpet and then shot some video of her outside the theatre and under the
marquee with her picture on it. They will be airing it in Canada in a
show about dog breeders. If any droolers to the North happen to get a tape
of it off Animal Planet we would be greatly indebted. After her driver
Philippe (courtesy of Warner Bros.) dropped her and us back at our vehicle
in NJ we took her for a celebratory whopper and large fries, she slept
well on the way home. </FONT></DIV>
