<DIV>Arrroughs Ahoy!</DIV>
<DIV> Hi It's me Henry who had such a grreat time yesterday being in a
PAWRADE called "SeaScare"! The Basset Rescue of Puget Sound won an award
too for our entry! Oh let me tell you!!!</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>In the Grreat Northwest we have some summertime traditional
Pawrades that happen in different neighborhoods. The BEST one is the one a week
AFTER all the "Sea Fair Parades" which is a big deal very Professional
parade....in a tiny town of "Brier" and it sorta makes fun of Sea Fair.</DIV>
<DIV> There are costumes worn by Ebreboddie...like..not just the entries
like ours that Patti Crawford made a Sea Fair traditional Pirates Flag..a skull
and crossbones sign and had it "Float style" in a bid red wagon...buttt...the
Sea Scare Banner for the wagon..the huge Banner flag had a skull and crossbones
WITH LONG LONG BASSET HOUND STYLE EARS ON IT!!!!!!!....(the Pawrades are
all about Pirates and Sea Ships at Sea Fair throwing candy and the Pirates
grabbing up Parade watchers unexpectedly and sweeping them away ..hugs and
kisses and lots of noisy "Arrrgh" pirate noises....) So...along with us
Basset Hounds walking in the Pawrade...the Big Sign on the wagon behind Dianne's
Red Rescue of Puget Sound Banner was this funny lookin Sea Fair/ Sea Scare
Pirate Flag .... As we marched by people laughed...the skulls Basset Houndy Ears
hung down...and were swept moving with the movement of the wagon (emergency
water and stuff and "in case of Flatt Basset"</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Butt...the Sea Scare Pawrade has EBREBODDIE wearing costumes iffin they
want to. Like for an example: My best favorite was a HORSE dressed up
as a HYDROPLANE BOAT ....(who pooped out road apples by the way and I impressed
the parade watchers...how FAST I got down and rubbed road apple on my neck
and chest...(Arrrrrg~! they said)( Kuel huh????!!)or some of us Basset Hounds
who help in the Rescue wore handmade costumes... Mermaid , Lockness
Monster, Pirate... ha ha and Gus wonderful as a huge CRAB with his
pinchers and many legs bouncing and a hood with hilarious "Crabby looking
EYEBALLS" going askew.... anyhow I was sposed to hab to wear a Fish on my
head..but I got outta it because we took too long finding parking and...people
kept stopping us to admire us on our way to the Pawrade.... and so
we got there in time to meet at Brier Pizza (the best Pizza in the
world) and yea..instead of on my head...the fishies dangled from the
leashes.... Some of the Bassets came in their Birfday suits...and Max
appointed himself as Boofer...all along the way people sat on the curbside
in chairs or just at the curb and about every 20 feet there would be somebodies
dog sitting in their lap or at their side...and MAX would pull and pull and go
try to be in their face and do a few Deep bellow boofings...then pull on...like
a John Deer Tractor wagging and so happy to be out in front with his Momma
holding one side of the kuel new Basset Rescue of Puget Sound Banner that Dianne
made.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>The crowd sure loved us...when I swooped in once and not only smeared some
road apple (lots of horses!theyall DANCED at the end of the Pawrade...and also
pooped alot! )....and THEN hen I snooped up a bit Road Apple Crumbly
Bit of the delish YUM to me confection...the pawrade watchers all..said
...Ohhhhhhh! Like they thought it was awfel funny. Mmmmroad apple perfume on me
and breth. Arg my Momma said when I pulled so sharp and the wagon lurched
unexpectedly...but eberbody was laughing...esp. me last laugh. I faked her out
and waited my chance at road apple treets. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>The Basset Hounds won an award for the entry! Patti Crawford 's
Pirate Sign with the Long Droopy Ears blowing in the summer breeze
made everybody smile and laugh at this easy going hometown parade and us Bassets
did good for showing our cheery waggy selfs off. Ona of("PetsEnergy"
store) sponsored the Basset entry AND gave out healthy sample treets.
Mmmmmm</DIV>
<DIV>Our homemade but professional looking new huge banner sign was
pretty wonderful that Dianne made and Patty's hilarious Pirate Basset
Sign (with long cloth ears) showed everybody rescue Bassets were there!
Our just local little Band of Basset Hounds for Rescue was soooo fun. It
was my Mommas first "Sea Scare" Pawrade and so for the parade they let her
an me an Hudson my bigg brudder pull Crawfords very very old but still
perfect Radio Flyer red wagon so kids knew we were the tail end END of the
band of Bassets of our entry...and soooo I (me Henry the youngest one who is #1
Pets Sponge, got lots of pets frum the kids along the Pawrade Way cause they
knew I was the last chance to pet one of the beautiful Basset Hounds.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>OOps Gotta go...treets R bein handed out! </DIV>
<DIV>Love and Woofs Frum Your Dear Henry Dear Henry!!!!</DIV>
