<div>So Rotten Rupert is in surgery right now. They said he's doing well. THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR KIND THOUGHTS AND DROOL!!! </div>
<div> </div>
<div>They've removed the portion of the intestine where the item is lodged, haven't opened it yet though to see what it is. I can't wait to know! They said it had likely been lodged for about 44 hours which means he must've ingested it several days ago....I still have no clue what it is!</div>
<div> </div>
<div>They also found a "diverticulum" or pocket that can form on intestines (they said its genetic). It happens in humans (diverticulitis) a lot but they said they've never seen it in dogs. They called a specialist surgeon too who said he'd heard of it but never seen it, Guess we have the medical-wonder-dog! Lol. Anyway this pocket can get food stuck in it and could result in future surgeries so I said to just cut out that part of the intestine too to prevent future incidents. Add another $200 onto the bill but oh well. Once its over $1000 it really doesn't make a difference. Lol. </div>
<div> </div>
<div>Anyways, thanks again. I'll let you know if anything changes but as of now I'm on track to take him home tonight when I get off work. On one hand I feel so bad for him and on the other its his own damn fault! Hopefully he'll learn a lesson but i doubt it. Lol. </div>
