Yes, I do get upset when people mistake my basset Diva for a beagle.
Recently, she got out of the fence and the animal control officer who called me
asked "Do you have a beagle, Ma'am?" I was so freaked out that she was out
of the fence, I didn't have time to say "no, ding-dong, I have a basset...and
what's-it-to-ya??" ha ha But you know what's really funny is
that it only bothers me when they think she's a beagle. If someone mistook
her for a great dane or a yellow lab, I would just giggle and correct
them...when really, it's the same mistake, ignorance about the breed. Why
is it that it offends us so much when someone mistakes our bassets for a beagle,
but not if they mistake them for a german shepherd??? dunno, but it drives
me bonkers too!!! </FONT></SPAN></DIV>

paws that have gone on ahead, God speed little houndies...make your way to the
bridge!! Goodness and joy awaits you!!! And drool for all the sick
houndies out there. How is Casey? Feeling any better? paws
crossed for you little one.</FONT></SPAN></DIV>
