<DIV>i was wondering what are the reasons Bassets get bloated and how do you
avoid it? i don't want any trouble...ever..if i can prevent it. i dont
have a reason for asking other than having read it in the DD a few times.
Also, having been sick with bronchitis and sinus infection this past 10 days, i
finally found a way to put Daisy to sleep during the dead times of the day.

<DIV>she has had all her morning walks, we play fetch and a new game we stumbled
upon by chance called Catch. i throw her bits of dog cereal in the air and lo
and behold! she caught a whole bunch of it in her mouth! i was shocked!
after a few catches she races in circles in the back yard, around and around as
fast as she can go, celebrating her new found accomplishment. so darned cute, i
had to laugh even tho i had a raging fever and shouldnt have even been out in
the hot sun in the first place.</DIV>

<DIV>the new way i found to put her down for a nap in the cool kitchen here
was to talk to her. about everything... the campaigns, tv shows, the kids, on
and on i spoke in a low voice and in no time she was snoozing away. it doesn't
do alot for your ego but works great on the dog. she has been good while i have
been sick, i just can't play with her like normal but we have gotten thru the
days somehow. i feel sorry for her, she should have a little boy to play with
,not some old lady who obviously bores her to sleep. </DIV>

<DIV>my best to the lady with the 5-10 surgery recovery at Rochester. been
there, done that with back surgery. recovering is so hard to do , i can't hardly
get over this virus much less some heavy surgery. Sue / Daisy/
