better place, free from Cushings, able to run, play, and see again, the pain of
saying goodbye has ripped thru me like no other, How do you even write this, how
do you see thru the tears that just don't stop?</DIV>
<DIV>Casey fought the battle of cushings for almost 2 years. She was never a
quitter, and she knew we were always there for her, we adjusted our life around
her schedule, knowing we wanted to be there for her. And we were. Casey was 13.

<DIV>Casey came to us from our vet, at the age of 8 months she had been brought
to him yet again for eating those strange objects only a basset can find, the
owner demanded she be put down, the dog incorrigible, ate everything, Doc got
her into the clinic, took possession, removed the chunk of bicycle tire she
chewed up, and called me. I remember his words-Debbie, I have a little something
for you--oddly enough, at the same time she came home to me, I had to put down
another dog-also with cushings.</DIV>
<DIV>She was no different than any other basset, she counter cruised, she
howled, she had the prettiest voice of all the hounds here, she loved life, and
lived large. Brother Bob has been her constant companion since the day she
arrived, he has watched over her, taken care of her in her time of need. Looking
into his eyes today has been so hard, his pain is deep, and at age 15-we hold
our breath. </DIV>
<DIV>Miss Casey-I promised you forever, and forever came today. Run free my
love, enjoy the buffet, I hope there is enough bread and rolls, we know that was
your favorite. Remember, Mom and Dad love you. </DIV>
