Thank you so much for all the drool and support for
Beau and I. I took him to the vet this AM and as previously confirmed by
many others, drool works! The vasodialaters are working. We only buy
him about 4 to 6 months, but I'll take it! It gives me much more time with
my boy and maybe some ways to help us as a family work through our grief.

One question does come up. I have done a
(very) little volunteering with CBHR in the past and was on their
website the other night. My oldest daughter caught me glancing at who was
up for adoption and she became very upset. She does not ever want a dog
again, because this is too hard (when you have to let one go). Would it be
a good idea to get a second dog now, so that Beau has a companion (something
I've always wanted) and that there is one left behind to help the children along
in their grief, versus nothing left to fill the void. If anyone has
experience with this I would love to hear it.
