<DIV>My name is Rhonda and I am from IN. I had 3 bassets, my first was penny who just recently went to the bridge in Sept I am still not over it yet but time helps. I do still have two sisters from the same litter that just turned 5 in august, I joined the group to find out how to do a better job with the Sissy's, Betsy Boo and Sadie Sue. It is really not my fault about Penny, but the hurt isn't going away. Penny was a beautiful lemon & white Petite basset. Penny was a rescue with many problems and issues and she was a biter. but I knew she had a hard life before I got her. She was 1 1/2 when we got her. She had a very good life and ate well as she learned to dump trash cans and open cabinet doors walk on my desk to see what she could find. She was a hand full to say the least. But in the summer she could not pee so I rushed her to a 24 hour emergency clinic at 5:30 am they put her under and found she had a bladder stone
blocking her from peeing. They performed Emg.surgery and all was well for about 3 months. then she developed 4 lumps around her neck they grew so big in just 6 weeks the where the size of the palm of my hand. I was out of money because the surgery cost us 1500.00 that we didn't have but we borrowed it. I called my breeder and he said it could not be anything but aggressive cancer of the lymph-nodes<SPAN> </SPAN>, and the best thing was to put her down. we lost her on Sept the 4Th of this year. Now I am more of over protective<SPAN> </SPAN> Mommy slave now more than ever. basset hounds are so needy and special.You can go to my web sight and on the pet portraits top row is my sweet girls the two on each end are my beloved Penny. Thank you for listing to me because no one else understands the love I have for my baby bassets. I hope Penny is having a wonderful time at the bridge. She was the only one of my bassets
that like to play ball tug of war but my other don't know how to play or what a toy is. That is why I miss Penny so much. Does anyone out their have any suggestions as to how to get the Sissy's to play??</DIV>
