<DIV>I am a fairly new basset hound "momperson" to a rescue hound--Jody. He had his first vet appointment with MY vet. He weighed 68 pounds and my vet, who I really like and trust, warned me about swimming and letting Jody around deep water. My Oliver (a corgi /ATB 11/13/08) loved to swim like crazy. But my vet said Bassets are not good swimmers due to their body mass, length and small webbed feet. Also he told me Jody was a "Standard" basset and that there are smaller sized bassets but my boy is a "big un"!!Sometimes when I watch the videos you Droolers post, the bassets looks so small to me compared to Jody. </DIV>
<DIV>Please help me clear up my present state of confusion. </DIV></body></html>
