I found a great dog food. Our dogs love it
and being Bassets, the guy at the pet store told me that any dog that bloats
would benefit from a no grain diet. I actually started them on a no grain
diet of can food and dry. The dry food is called BG or before grain.
It comes in Salmon and Chicken. The pieces are small and our dogs love
it. I also found something even better they love and it is a product
called Honest Kitchen. It is dehydrated food. Close to raw.
You just add warm water and it makes a stew like oatmeal. They make two
different flavors of no grain, several grain formulas and one that is all
vegetable. You can also add your own meats to it but you don't have
to. The dogs love it. It is pricey. Cost about 72.00 a box but
it equals 43 one lb cans of food. With two dogs it last a
while. My guys seem to like the chicken one. The no grains would
also be good for any dog with skin allergies.
