<DIV>Anita asked about her parents' dog, who is suffering from kidney
failure.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>We just lost a cat to kidney failure. We did nurse her through it for four
months, though. We had the same problems with her eating that your parents
are having with their dog. One thing we found is that she would not eat if she
was dehydrated. The vet (at first), and later we, gave her sub-q fluids
(just under the skin, not intramuscular) and when we kept her hydrated she
definitely was more interested in eating.</DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV>Might be worth checking with the vet -- I don't know if kidney failure
affects dogs as it does cats, but in the case of our Hobo she peed a lot and
wasn't able to concentrate her urine, thus lost more than usual fluids.</DIV>

<DIV>Good luck!</DIV>
