Randall Treadway had his day in court today in Jonesborough, Tenn. He showed up without an attorney and the judge told him to get a lawyer and come back April 1. The judge told him he would be first on the docket, no delays. "If you don't have a lawyer at that time, you'll have to represent yourself," the judge told him.

Treadway's mother, Linda, who owned the house where BRBR found Annie, has also been charged with animal cruelty. She has hired a prominent defense attorney from Johnson City, Tenn.

Both Treadways face up to a $2,500 fine and a year in jail. Randall Treadway is also being asked to pay restitution for Annie's medical bills.

Here is Annie's FirstGiving page if you want to donate money. There are new photos of Annie there, too:
http://www.firstgiving.com/help_annie

Here is her petition. If you want to tell the Washington County DA to put Randall Treadway under the jail, please sign it:
http://www.thepetitionsite.com/91/justice-for-annie-the-basset-hound
Then send it to all your contacts and ask them to sign it. We'll make sure the DA gets it before Treadway's next court appearance.

Thanks for all the donations, cards, emails, and the drool. You guys rock.
