<DIV>The Dashing Basset household is mourning to hear that Mitchell has left for the Bridge. Much drool and many prayers are headed in the direction of MomPerson and her family, especially Nigel and Lewis, who now have to grow up and be good boys all on their own. We know they are up to it.</DIV>

<DIV>We hope that Mitchell's entry to the Bridge will end the flow of hounds headed in that direction. I tried to get Alexis Thefairyprincess, who has been at the Bridge for a couple of years now, to stop the flow. She pointed out to me that this is not really a job for a gentle fairyprincess, but she will be glad to support any sturdier hounds who are willing to bar the gates for a while. She hopes to gather a bunch of Bridge hounds to effectively bar the way. Perhaps Mitchell will be glad to join her.</DIV>

<DIV>We know that Mitchell understood that his humans did all they could to help him. We are sorry that it didn't mean more time with his favorite humans. But surely the Bridge hounds will take good care of him, and now he can run, jump, and enjoy life again.</DIV>
