Just a note to chime in on docs who charge or don't
charge for euthanasia. Unfortunately, I have been on the receiving end of
this way too often. But my wonderful vetman always will come to my house,
sit with me and my husband, talk things over one last time, pet and stroke my
baby and make sure that he/she is comfortable before administering any
drugs. When all is done and we know that our baby has begun his/her new
journey, our vetman sits with us and comforts us. Never have I felt that
he had somewhere else to be or wanted to be than right there with us. Our
vetman has even asked if there's anything he can do to help with burial.
And all the times he's made his way to my house for this horrible yet necessary
thing, he has never once charged a dime for his services or for any meds
used. Granted, I'm sure I have put most of his children through college
and will continue with grandchildren, but I think -- I know this is separate
from that.

So living in a small town with
small town attitudes may not always get you the most advanced or even best care
you could in the big city, but you can always count on sympathy, empathy and
comfort from people you know and love.

may he never have to come to my house ever again!!!!!
