Maliah went to the vet today. He said the reason
she's so small is because she's only about 14 weeks old, not 6 months as the
shelter told us. He really wasn't sure about the condition in her back legs. He
said her skeletal system looked OK, but her hind legs were bowed out. He
thought a neurological condition may be causing the crouching. We have since
learned from the shelter that Maliah's sister was diagnosed with Rickets.
If that's what Maliah has, it sounds like there's hope of correcting it with
proper nutrition since she's so young.
