If there is an age at which they stop gutting their stuffed toys, it is
past 13 which was our oldest basset.  Stuffies are only made
available to puppies younger than kennel age, and for ex-pen toys when
traveling.  If they feel the need to have a soft toy for comfort, I
give them the sheepskin-looking car wash mitts from K-Mart - that way
there are no stuffings to remove.  You can even put a squeek in side
