I'm replying to your DD post about your new foster houndie.&nbsp; You may already know this stuff so forgive me if this is too basic.&nbsp;&nbsp;Submissive urination is&nbsp;fairly common in females who lack confidence, have been treated roughly, or abused.&nbsp; First I'd have her checked for a UTI just to rule that out.&nbsp; Then I'd totally IGNORE the behavior.&nbsp; Try to make greetings and departures (comings and goings) very calm and matter-of-fact.&nbsp; Don't make over her, especially when coming into a room or coming in the door.&nbsp; Don't bend down and tower over her to greet her.&nbsp; Stay upright, use indirect eye contact, say "hello" in a calm quiet voice and then you can pet her or squat down to give her some affection once you're home for a while and she's calmed down.&nbsp; If she does urinate, don't react.&nbsp; Turn your back to her (and head toward the paper towels).&nbsp; Calmly and quietly clean it up without making a fuss.&nbsp; Don't say, "Oh, no!&nbsp; Bad dog!" In fact, don't say anything.&nbsp; Pretend it didn't happen.&nbsp; It has nothing to do with housetraining per se.&nbsp; Eventually, she will gain confidence and this will stop.&nbsp; <br>
