<DIV>I just wanted to let everyone know that my Ma Barker and Dulcie passed their initial therapy dog test with perfect scores! They were so gentle and unfazed by all the activity - allowed their ears and tails to be pulled (part of the test) and weren't scared of loud noises or wheelchairs. Ma in true fashioned showed everyone her belly. One woman unhooked her oxygen and got out of her wheelchair so she could give Ma a real belly rub. One lady just kept petting Dulcie and telling her she was such a pretty girl. The girls loved all the attention and we hope to go for our 1st supervised visit on the 27th. Now the drool. My dear Dulcie had surgery in Oct. for a mammary tumor which turned out to be cancerous. We chose not to do chemo because the recommended course would have affected her heart and she has an enlarged heart. This spring, where she had the incision started to open and everything we tried did not close
it and now she has an open wound. The vet feels that it's because the tumor has come back. So Wednesday my sweet girl will go for her second surgery. We again won't do chemo because of her heart. If you can send some drool her way, she is truly the sweetest basset I've ever had (and the favorite of the pizza delivery guy <grin>) and I want many more years of spoiling her and soon taking her to spread joy to others as a therapy dog.</DIV>
