<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Miss Dallas, the first Basset to become a
Bounder with Senior Houndsabound, has left us for the bridge this
afternoon. I had taken her over to the specialists in Tampa
due to some severe skin problems she was having. This hound had the worst
allergies I have ever encounters, and they flared up in a major way the last
month. I was expecting to go and get some direction on what to do to get
her skin back to some level of normalness for her. What I got was the
diagnosis that she was in end stage lymphoma. I was stunned,
shocked, disbelief. We had just done in depth blood work in April before I
had her teeth cleaned, and nothing abnormal showed up. It runs out the vet
feels like her skin issues were due to her auto immune system shutting
down. Possibly because of the cancer. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>I don't know, I am still stunned and just
heartbroken. Dallas was the sweetest little Basset. Looking
back, the last month -6 weeks starts to make sense, her loss of
weight, the bloat symptoms that she had after every meal, her not
responding to drugs for her UTI;s that she was constantly having. She had
gotten down to 31 pounds, and her norm was 40. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>After hearing that she was probably in some pain,
with the ulcers on hers gums and tongue, and that there was nothing they
could do, I brought her to my vet and we let her go. We had to
wait a bit, and I knew it was right, as she just curled up in my arms on
the blanket and slept, pretty much even as they injected her. I held her,
letting her know she was loved by many, and a few hounds she should make
sure she checks in with at the bridge as they could show her the ropes and most
importantly, the buffet. </FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Hug you babies a little tighter this evening.
